Green electricity you can make yourself

As a man who came of age in the ’60s, I’ve always been attracted to the idea of green electricity. It bothers me that we get so much of our energy via non-renewable, polluting means, and I’ve done my part through the years to the best of my ability.

Unfortunately, up to now, those of us who were interested in green electricity didn’t have much power over things (pun entirely intentional). Few power companies offered any sort of green energy, many communities didn’t offer any programs to encourage it, and only the real nutcases made their own electricity.

Which is what really excites me right now–finally, finally! it’s okay to be deeply interested in green electricity. Sure, most power companies are still way behind the times, but it’s actually becoming trendy to install solar and wind power generators at home which means that you can now make your own electricity without getting weird looks from the neighbors.

I’m bringing green electricity to my house in the form of wind power. How do you plan to do it?
